Prenatal courses offer an ideal environment for small groups of prospective parents to learn more about pregnancy, birth and parenting. Led by qualified prenatal teachers, the courses are a wonderful way to gain information and confidence in preparation for birth and the first few months afterwards. They provide an opportunity for meeting other future parents, helping them to build support networks and make lasting friendships. - First time parent's courses are attended by between 5 and 8 couples and take place over a combination of weekday evenings and weekends for about 5 weeks, but this can vary.
- Refresher courses for parents expecting second or subsequent children are shorter, and are held every 3 to 4 months.

Choosing a Course As availability can rapidly change, you will need to put AT LEAST TWO courses on your registration form. On that form you will be able to note any availabity problems you have with any of your chosen courses. Please see the FAQ section for further advice on choosing a course. It is important to note that if you are having twins, you should consider your due date to be at 36 weeks of pregnancy for the purposes of choosing a prenatal course.
